Mrs. Mary Willingham, 82, of Youngstown, transitioned to eternal rest on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
Mrs. Willingham, affectionately known as “Molly”, was born February 2, 1944 in Camilla, Georgia, a daughter of Cora Lee Dumas Thomas Sr. She had been employed in the maintenance department with the Youngstown City School, retiring after over 25 years of service. Mary was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and its culinary committee. She enjoyed bingo, shopping, cooking, baking, sitting on the porch and the Cleveland Browns. She like to watch TV, especially The Young & the Restless, Guiding Light, As the World Turns, Let’s Make a Deal, Price is Right, Family Feud, and the Tamron Hall Show.
She leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her life, her beloved husband, John Sr., whom she married November 30, 1970; a daughter, Tracy Willingham of Girard; four grandchildren, Tyra, JaLisa, Terena, and Tamesha; two great grandchildren; a brother, Willie (Ruby) Thomas of Mississippi; daughter-in-law, Karen Willingham of Masury; and a host of family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, John Willingham, Jr., three sisters, Cora Lee Thomas Jr., Janie Thomas, and Marion Harris; a brother, James Thomas; and grandson, Teron D. Willingham.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home, 1951 McGuffey Rd., Youngstown. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 12:00 p.m.
