Dr. Stephanie Smith

            Dr. Stephanie Smith, 63, of Youngstown formerly of St. Louis, MO, transitioned from labor to reward on Thursday, February 5, 2026.

            Dr. Smith was born October 3, 1962 in Youngstown, a daughter of Clifford and Berdia Tubbs Smith.  She was a 1980 graduate of South High School.  After graduating high school, she received her BA degree in Business from Youngstown State University; her MBA Degree from Alabama A & M; and her PHD from the University of Phoenix.  Dr. Smith was a former member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.  Her passion was making sure diversity was in the workplace.  She had been employed with the City of Columbus Ohio Equal Business Opportunity Commission Office, University of North Carolina Wilmington as an executive-in-residence managing student diversity within the Cameron School of Business, Washington University manager of supplier diversity, and lastly, Edward Jones Financial.  Stephanie enjoyed reading, traveling and shopping.

            She leaves to mourn her passing, but to celebrate her life and legacy, her mother of Youngstown; a sister, Yolonda (Bill) Wall of Youngstown; her brother, Terrance (Patty) Smith of Columbus; three nieces; two great nieces; among others two special aunts, Theresa Dunwood and Lelia Milliner and an uncle, Ambrose Smith; and a host of loving family and friends.

            Besides her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Clifford “Fuzzy” Smith; and her grandparents.

            Visitation will be Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home, 1951 McGuffey Road, Youngstown, OH 44505.  A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00 a.m.
