Olivia Ousley Obituary

            Mrs. Olivia Major Ousley, 62, of Sharon, PA., transitioned to her heavenly home on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at UPMC in New Castle, PA.

            Mrs. Ousley, affectionately known as “Mo”, was born September 21, 1961 in Warren, Ohio, a daughter of William Jackson and Josephine Carr Major.  She was a 1980 graduate of Farrell High School and attended Penn State Nursing School Shenango Campus.  She had worked as a nursing assistant with Park Vista Nursing Home, the Shenango Inn in Sharon, PA; and most recently, private duty home health caring for children and adults. 

            Olivia is a member of Community Baptist Church in Farrell.  She enjoyed bowling, traveling, gardening, fishing, shopping, doing hair, interior decorating,  the great outdoors, her dogs and bird.  She was also a Girl Scout Troop leader, and an enthusiastic football and cheerleader Mom. 

            She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Raymond Ousley Jr., whom she married August 15, 1998; three wonderful children, Eric (Shena) Major of Wheatland, PA., Aaron Major of Youngstown, and Maggie Major of Warren who was also her caregiver; a sister, Rebecca Jefferson of Herndon, VA; two brothers, Mark (Christy) Major of Bristolville, and Harley (Bridget) Major of France; five grandchildren; her godson, Marziarah Fenner; her mother-in-law, Mae Ousley of Sharon, PA; brother-in-law, Jon (Dawn) Ousley of Sharon, PA; sisters-in-law, Cheryl (Eugene) Byler of Farrell, PA and Ruth Rawlins of Hermitage, PA; two special friends, Yvonne Jordon Jones and Lori Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

            Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Arnold, Alvon and Carroll Wooding; a niece, Valerie Wooding; father-in-law Raymond Ousley Sr.; and sister-in-law, Carmen R. Fleming.

            Visitation will be Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. at Community Baptist Church, 1013 Emerson Ave., Farrell, PA.  16121.  Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. 

            Ministry of comfort, love and dignity entrusted to the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.
