Kathryn Walton

Ms. Kathryn Walton 68, departed this life February 2, 2024 at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Hospital Youngstown, surrounded by her loved ones. Kathryn was born September 17, 1955 in Youngstown, a daughter of CD Sr. and Louise Snipes Walton. Kathryn was the youngest of nine children. She was a graduate of East High School and had attended Youngstown State University.  Kathryn retired from Sunrise Assisted Living where she was employed as a Care Manager for many years. Kathryn was a dedicated employee with a heart for taking care of others. Kathryn was a devout woman of God and served as  Church Mother and Board member at Apostolic Assembly of Praise. She was a former member of Apostolic Faith Temple where she also served as Church Mother. Kathryn loved to be around the people of God and faithfully pressed her way to church each Saturday and Sunday. 

Kathryn loved spending time with her family, especially her daughter and grandson. She had a remarkable bond with her sisters, nieces and nephews and rarely missed celebrating milestones with them. She also enjoyed traveling, playing board games and shopping. She leaves to mourn her passing, her daughter Kristal Slade of Canton, OH; her siblings; Delores Wiggins, Juanita (Gregory) Powell, Claudia (Arthur) Butler, Janice Walton, LouAnne King and Francine (William) Abron; her grandson, Kannon Slade-Geertson; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers Eugene Walton and CD Walton Jr. 

Visitation will be 9:00-10:00am Saturday February 10, 2024 at L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home 1951 McGuffey Road, with Funeral Service at 10:00am.  Services of love and dignity entrusted to L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.
